RECREATION CORNER
Kudos to all-star teams and coaches
By
Denise Senosk
The Quaboag All Star baseball and softball teams did a super job
and seemed to have a lot of fun at the same time. Hats off to
the coaching staff for remembering that town recreation leagues
are for fundamentals. Thanks to all of you. Thank you, Paul Provost,
once again, for providing us with our sound system during the
All Star games.
South Pond
On Monday, June 27, a group of dedicated individuals
and their families gathered at South Pond for what turned out
to be one of the best clean-up days yet. The beach area has been
completely cleaned up, as well as the grassy areas around the
beach. Please help us to keep this clean. Special thanks to the
Provost, Nichols, Gillmeister, Couture, Sinko and Defazio families.
I do apologize, in advance, if I missed anyone.
Lewis
Field
Monday nights continue to be busy with a weekly women’s
softball game, Tuesdays with weekly basketball games, and the
rest of the week with various all star baseball and softball games.
As always, the playground is full of laughter and cheers of joy
as our little angels play.
Pavilion
The pavilion is coming along nicely. Our volunteers are
looking forward to completion. They have all been very busy throughout
the past few months, pulling it all together. It will be nice
to just sit and enjoy!
Flag Football
We’re still looking for more kids to join the 20
that have already signed up. This is for kids in grades 2 through
6. If interested, please call Keith Law at 867-3240 or Mike Lucas
at 867-5966.
Trip to Foxwoods
On Saturday, Sept. 17, we’ll be leaving Brookfield
Elementary School at 4:30 p.m., and will leave Foxwoods to return
at 11:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. For more information
or to reserve your seat, please call Denise at 508-344-0540.
