RECREATION CORNER
Sportsmanship challenges should never arise
By Denise Senosk

Basketball is going well, however I do need to stress the importance of good sportsmanship on and off the court. Parents, please portray this at all times as this is what our children follow. We did have an incident of misconduct where disciplinary action is being taken between the team members involved. This is not something we take lightly. Players will be disciplined, and parents will be ejected from the gym. Please remember this is a recreational league and it is suppose to be FUN as well as instructional. When traveling to other towns, remember we (coaches, players and families) represent our town. We should only portray positive attitudes. Any and all problems should be brought to the attention of the Trybil committee after the games—not during. Again, let’s all remember to have fun.

Baseball/Softball
Dave Proulx has set up registration dates which have already taken place. Information was sent home through the schools. Please, if you missed the signups you need to call Dave ASAP at 508-867-5419. Placement on teams at this time is going to be difficult, as rosters need to be turned in. Anyone wishing to help with coaching also needs to contact Dave.

Annual Coaches Banquet
All recreation coaches, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 5, the tentative date for an evening of music, dancing, adult conversation, food and just plain fun. Watch your mail for your invitation.

Cub Scouts
Sorry folks, it’s not looking good. We haven't had anyone step up as of yet. This may be the end of the Pack. Some of our boys have already moved to the pack in East Brookfield. If you would like information on who to call, please let me know. I would like to thank Rob and Judy Snyder for leading our boys to their victory last year in the Chuck Wagon and for their time with the Pack. You will be missed.

Adult Volleyball and Men’s Basketball
With the basketball season here, there may be some Friday evenings when the games run late. Your time will begin once the game is over. Please be patient; the program only runs through February. Also, if you miss your night for any reason—weather, school cancellations, holidays—the schedule will stay the same. We will not bump the men’s basketball for volleyball or volleyball for basketball.
