Community benefits from Apple Fair profits

Since its inception in 1978, the Brookfield Community Club has given away more than $165,000 in annual grant awards. The money for these awards comes from the profits earned at the Club's annual Apple Country Fair. The amounts vary each year, with weather being the determining factor.

This year the Brookfield Community Club has allocated $5,000to be distributed as follows:

$750 to the Brookfield Fire Department to purchase a computer-based simulator training system
$300 to A.P.P.L.E. Seed for cherry tree maintenance
$1,850 to A.P.P.L.E. Seed to publish the Brookfield Citizen
$300 for the annual Tantasqua Senior Award
$200 for Thanksgiving baskets for needy Brookfield families
$500 to purchase Christmas presents for needy Brookfield families
$400 for a party for Apple Country Fair volunteers
$700 for Camp Bournedale transportation
