Local student honored as 'Heisman' finalist

Tantasqua student Sarah Hilker has been named a Massachusetts State Finalist in the 2005 Wendy's High School Heisman Program. It is a great honor to be recognized as one of the best scholar-athlete-citizens in the state of Massachusetts. This year, close to 15,000 students were nominated nationally and only 10 males and 10 females per state are chosen as State Finalist.

A dinner and awards ceremony was held on Thursday, Nov. 17 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. to honor the State Finalists and State Winners from the Northeast Heisman Region (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont).
