Gallery gathers no moss this month

Brookfield’s own Riverbend Gallery, featuring artisans of the Quaboag River Valley, hosts a number of events and exhibitions in October.

Plein Air of the Massasoit
You see them around in little groups painting the local scenery and having fun doing it. They're the Plein Air Painters of the Massasoit Art Guild who now have an exhibit and sale going on at Riverbend Gallery. Here's your chance to a get local painting by a local artist at a very reasonable cost. Framed or unframed. Shows to mid-October.

Backroads Tour Stop
Riverbend Gallery is a proud sponsor of the "Artist Studios Backroads Tour" Oct. 1-2. Drop in an open house, and have your silhouette cut by artist Ruth Bolton. Ruth specializes in silhouette cutting in black paper. Get a hand painted frame to go with it and—presto—a great arty present.

Annual Open House
The Third Annual October Open House is Oct. 8, 9 and 10. Enjoy cookies and cider punch while admiring paintings, pottery, wood carvings and turnings, and handmade cards, and meeting the artists.

Stones Gathering Moss
An exhibit of stone and stonewall paintings by local artists coincides with a nature walk to be led by writer Robert M. Thorson on Nov. 5. The exhibit will feature watercolor and oil paintings, collages, mixed media and photography of stones in their environment. Signed copies of Robert Thorson's most recent book, Stone by Stone, will be available. The exhibition will be on view mid-October thru mid-November.
