Submit best Brookfield pic for statewide photo contest

The Brookfield Board of Selectmen announces that the Massachusetts Municipal Association is holding its 2nd annual statewide photo contest, part of the 27th annual Meeting and Trade Show to be held in Boston in January 2006. The 2006 wall calendar theme, "Crossing the Commonwealth," will attempt to blaze a yearlong trail across the state, showcasing some of Massachusetts' "hidden gems." Photographs will be judged primarily on their ability to answer the question: "What makes your city/town stand apart as a unique part of Massachusetts or New England as a whole?" Additional weight will be given to geographic and seasonal diversity in an attempt to represent each region of the state and all four seasons equally in the calendar. The contest is open to all who wish to participate. Entries are due by Oct. 17. Twelve runners-up will be featured for each month, and a cover shot (either front or back) will be awarded as the grand prize.

To enter, please submit unmounted, horizontal, original color photographs to: MMA Calendar Contest, 60 Temple Place, Floor 2, Boston, MA 02311. On the back of each photo, please include photographer’s name, address, phone number and location of the photograph. Please also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like the photos returned.
