Host families needed
for Spanish travelers

TO THE EDITOR:

EF (Education First) Tours, a non-profit educational organization, is excited to announce the arrival of 35 foreign exchange students and two teachers to the Brookfield area this summer and is actively seeking host families for the four week program.

The students, ages 13-18, and two teachers will be coming from Spain and are looking for warm, caring families who are willing and able to share their homes and their culture this summer. Arriving on July 5 and departing on Aug. 1, the students come with a firm grasp of the English language, their own travel insurance, and ample spending money. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, they will be participating in English immersion classes, which will meet at a local church or school, and going on local tours and study visits. During the evenings and on the weekends, they are free to enjoy time with their host families.

This summer promises to be a particularly exciting one as EF Tours has a great line-up of activities planned for both EF students and their families. As a host family, your student and family will be able to join us for activities such as museum visits, family parties, barbecues, and beach trips. In addition, EF Tours also rewards host families by enrolling them in their Passport Rewards program and offers discount reimbursements to host families who have a student who has traveled through EF in the past or discounts to those who plan to in the future. As an additional thank you, EF also offers discounts on a number of other travel and cultural exchange programs for students and adults to locations around the world.

EF is currently in urgent need of host families for the July program. Without host families, this program will be impossible. We are actively seeking families, with or without children, who are able to provide a safe, comfortable environment for their exchange student to stay in. Host parents must be at least 25 years of age and will be provided with 24-hour support during the program. We are also accepting applications from families in the Warren, West Brookfield, and Sturbridge area, so be sure to spread the word to family and friends!

Whether you are ready to apply to become a host family, or would just like to ask a few questions, please contact your local program coordinator, Elizabeth or Dave, at 508-764-6716, email EFhomestay@msn.com, or visit us online at www.efhomestay.org. Requests for age and gender will be handled on a first-come-first-serve basis, so be sure to get your application in as early as possible and get ready for a socially, educationally, and culturally rewarding summer as an EF Host Family.
