Let
the chips fall where they may
What
do you get when you have a field divided into 2-foot-square plots
and two well-fed cows are set free to roam until they spontaneously
drop a cow chip somewhere in the field? St. Mary’s Parish
Sixth Annual Cow Chip Festival!
This moo-ving event takes place on the Brookfield Town Common,
Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
The bold and the curious among the population can plunk down a
mere $10 for a ticket (ticket holders need not be present to win)
that corresponds to one of the squares in the field. People who
buy the square that the cow eventually hits will share in prizes
ranging from $250 to $2,500.
In addition to watching a cow graze through a field, just waiting
for the chips to fall on the beautiful Town Common, the festival
will include an appetizing food concession stand, a giant flea
market filled with local treasures, and an array of craft booths.
Enticing gift baskets, a bake sale featuring the best local recipes,
as well as kids games and adult games, a silent auction and live
entertainment will complete the day of fun and leisure.
Proceeds benefit St. Mary’s Church in Brookfield. For information,
call 508-867-3188.
