This
is a new record. Two months in a row, I have managed to keep
track of the dedicated crew that assembles the Citizen.
Isobel Fogwill, Paul Berry, Marguerite Desmond, Pauline Merrick,
Barbara Clancy, Verne and Margaret Heipler, Bill Frangiamore,
and yours truly made short work of a long issue, with a few
inserts. Thank you all for your continuing help with this project.
There’s plenty of room for more, if you are interested
in helping out. We usually begin around 6:30 p.m. in the Town
Hall on the folding day. The July issue will be assembled on
June 29. Come on down!
I’d like to thank all the folks who helped out on April
23 at Operation Clean Sweep. Although we weren’t able
to cover all the worst areas, we still did make a noticeable
dent in the roadside trash. And, you don’t have to wait
for a specific time or day to clean things up. If you see trash,
it wouldn’t hurt one bit to stop and pick it up.
And a smile to grow on…
A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One
of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named, “Ahmal.”
The other goes to a family in Spain, and they name him, “Juan.”
Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother.
Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes
she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, “They’re
twins! If you’ve seen Juan, you’ve seen Ahmal.”
