THE FOLDING CORNER
Many Hands Make Light Work
By Philip Peirce

February’s folders welcomed four “newbies” with Tim and Danielle Kane, Barbara Clancy, and Brenda Lague assisting our hardy regulars Vern and Margaret Heipler, Lucy Beeman, Marguerite Desmond, Isabelle Fogwill, Pauline Merrick, and yours truly. The old adage, (I can never remember the complete sentence), starts with, “Many hands make….” Well, you get the idea. The time just flew by, Tim and Danielle learned the ropes quickly, setting up the rhythm needed to “get into it.” Tim managed to get some candid shots of most of us as we bent to the task at hand. Thank you all who came in and helped. The monthly folding is a true community project, and the volunteer spirit that brings you there is a great example to all others who might do the same. All are welcome!

I received many favorable comments from around town on the new Citizen format. And not a discouraging word was heard. What’s more, I like it too. But do me a favor and let Tim and Danielle know how you feel about it and their efforts; drop a line to the P.O. Box, or e-mail them. They deserve a lot of credit for jumping in and running with it so quickly. They are truly a blessing to me and the community

I have a friend who gives me stuff that she thinks might serve as “filler” in the newsletter. I’ll just use little pieces of it in this column:
Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire in the craft. Not surprisingly, it sank, proving once again that you can’t have your kayak and heat it, too.
I think I hear groaning…
