COA NEWS
COA seeks senior activity planner
By Brenda Lague

It is the mission of the Brookfield Council On Aging to maintain or improve the quality of life for senior citizens living in the community.

Job Position
The Council on Aging is seeking a part-time activities director to lead and coordinate a social hour for seniors in Brookfield twice a month. This grant-funded position is two hours every other week for a total of four hours a month. Pay is $10 an hour. Nice position for someone seeking mother's hours or a new retiree. Candidate should be friendly, enthusiastic and creative. If interested, call Barbara Clancy at 508-867-6043.

Tai Chi Going Strong
We had 15 people sign up for the Tai Chi class. Everyone is having fun. Look for the next class sign up in January.

Foot Clinic
The next foot clinic is in December. There is a suggested donation of $ 10 for this service.

Line Dancing Anyone?
The COA is considering sponsoring a Line Dancing Class, if enough individuals are interested. Call Barbara at 508-867-7865.

Remember Our Partnerships
• Transportation — If you need a ride, call the West Brookfield Senior Center 508-867-1407. This is a great service for medical appointments, but drivers will take you other places as well. There is a small, suggested donation depending on your destination. This service is provided through the Senior Center by private drivers, so it's door-to-door service and the driver waits for you.
• Outreach — If you need information, assistance or a referral of any kind, call the North Brookfield Senior Center at 508-867-0220. This is also the place to call if you have questions or need assistance with insurance needs. Call the North Brookfield Senior Center and ask to make an appointment with the SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Counselor.
