Council on Aging seeks two members for board

We are currently have two vacancies on the Council on Aging Board.

Tai Chi Class
The
second session of this popular class is now running, however you
can still join. 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at the Town Hall.
This is a moderate form of exercise and meditation. Cost for an
eight-week session is $30 for seniors, slightly more if you’re
under 60 years of age. Come try a session for free. The cost of
the class is supplemented by COA budget in order to keep costs
affordable for seniors.
Affordable Transportation for Seniors
We partner with
the town of West Brookfield to provide low-cost transportation
to seniors. This service, which uses private drivers, is available
for medical appointments, shopping or other trips. Please call
the West Brookfield Senior Center to schedule a ride 508-867-1407.
A two-day notice is requested when scheduling a ride.
Outreach Services
Outreach services are available to seniors living in
Brookfield through the Outreach program in the town of North Brookfield.
These services are confidential. If you need information on fuel
assistance, food stamps or prescription assistance, call the North
Brookfield Senior Center at 508-867-0220.
Foot Clinic
Podiatry services will be provided by foot doctor, Dr. Quigley,
10 a.m. on Feb. 25 at the Town Hall. Limit 15 seniors. Cost is
a $10 donation.
All
of the above programs are supplemented by the town COA budget
in order to keep costs affordable for seniors.
The mission of the Council on Aging is to provide social, recreational
and health programs for the senior citizens of Brookfield. Services
also include outreach and low-cost transportation.
