bus tickets

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority has just signed on the Tip Top Country Store as a new location to purchase bus tickets for the WRTA. Tip Top Country Store is located on 8 Central St. in Brookfield. Get bus schedules and other information at www.therta.com.

Sign the Brookfield Citizen’s Christmas card, which will be published in the December issue. The card will be at the Brookfield Congregational Church on Tuesday, Nov. 1 and at St. Mary’s Church on Monday, Nov. 14. Or call Phil Peirce at 508-867-9553 to arrange a time to sign the card. The cost, which benefits the Citizen, is $5 for a single or family name.

Outreach program
for tots

An early enrichment program is offered for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old and their parents or guardians at the Brookfield Elementary School. All children within Union 61 (Brimfield, Brookfield, Holland, Sturbridge and Wales) who are not enrolled in another preschool program are eligible. Christmas Memories

Join 19th-century costumed performers as they present a play based on Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales.” Enjoy carols plus a traditional turkey dinner. Saturdays, Dec. 3 and 10 at 3 p.m., Sundays Dec. 4 and 11 at noon and 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 18 at noon. Tickets, which include dinner, entertainment, tax and gratuity, must be ordered in advance and are $45 adults, $22 for children under 12.

Holiday Decorating Contest

The Brookfield Cultural Council's annual holiday decorating contest will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18. Judging will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Please submit entries to the Cultural Council by Dec. 1. Entry forms can be found in the November Citizen and at various establishments around town. All participants will receive a free gift for entering.
